Permatech , J-Mar Contracting and Jaxon Constructions achieved an outstanding result with the waterproofing requirements for the basement of this prestigious multi story building.
Initial focus was the basement of the development. Considerations for this project included: water table, construction schedule, type of construction, impact on other site activities and most importantly, product back-up, quality assurance, and warranty. Permatech has a large range of products available to enable selection of the best product for each circumstance. The stand out for this application was the Cetco Voltex DS SWR membrane with Waterstop RX. These products are manufactured with bentonite, a natural clay that has long term waterproofing properties. There were three main advantages of the product selection.
The same membrane was placed over the entire basement floor, turned up the piled and in-situ concrete wall sections and attached with impact fasteners. All joints were treated with the Waterstop RX. Shotcrete was applied directly to the membrane fixed to the pile walls. J-Mar Contracting, an approved Cetco Applicator, were contracted by Jaxon Constructions to complete these works. Jason and his team from J-Mar worked diligently to ensure that all Cetco requirements were met or exceeded, they worked in complete collaboration with both the Jaxon team and subcontractor, Advanced Formwork, to ensure correct product application whilst being mindful of the requirements of other trades and the builder. Basement works have now been completed and the de watering turned off, the result confirms correct product selection as well as utilizing suitably qualified quality contractors.
